Kenya wildlife service (KWS) and Kenya forest service (KFS)are the custodians who ensure the magical Aberdare is protected from encroachment, poaching, and general service to hikers, climbers, holidaymakers, and enterprises that are thriving within its borders.
A 4 days package starts at a lower altitude within the bamboo forest, climbing up onto the moorlands. The Aberdares is decorated by the African Elephant, black rhino, leopard, spotted hyena, olive baboon, black and white colobus monkey, sykes monkey, cape buffalo, warthog, common zebra (North Aberdare), bushbuck, and reedbuck. Rare sightings include those of the Giant Forest hog, bongo, golden cat, serval cat, African wild cat, African civet cat, and blue duiker. During the tour, you are likely to spot the endangered mountain bongo in the upper bamboo zone.
