Kwale County is located on the south coast of Kenya. Kwale borders Tanzania to the South West, Taita Taveta to the West, Kilifi to the North, Mombasa to the North East and the Indian Ocean to the East. This County covers a total surface area of 8,270.2 square km and accounts for 1.42 percent of Kenya`s total surface area.
Shimba Hills National Reserve in Kwale
Shimba Hills National Reserve is one of the largest coastal forests in East Africa the first being the Arabuko-Sokoke Forest. This national reserve is rich in flora and fauna and it hosts the highest density of African elephants in Kenya. There are also other animal species found in the area such as Sable antelope, elephant shrew, bushy-tailed mongoose, and other small mammals like fruit bats. This particular forest is an important bird area and is endowed with forest birdlife while the grasslands hold localized species such as red-necked-Spur fowl, Croaking Cisticola, and Zanzibar Red Bishop. The scenic Sheldrick Falls and the dense Mwaluganje Forest are also found here along with four campsites.

Tiwi Beach
Tiwi Beach is located southwards from Mombasa. The beach has white sand, and the beach line stretches for several kilometers. The bottom is sandy. Ebbs considerably affect the swimming possibilities for tourists, but small pools remain on the beach, and you can bathe there while on Kenya Safaris.
